ATTENTION: We are currently closed for internships.

Keep an eye on this space if you’re interested in a future internship.

At Tonesy, we wholly support the educational growth of up’n’comers in the Australian audio industry; not just throwing you in front of a coffee machine for a few months. We are proud to offer INTERNSHIP opportunities to those interested in the art of recording, mixing and mastering.

As a Danger Tone Intern, you will gain experience taking part in:

  • Session setup; setting up drums, guitar amps, outboard gear, Pro Tools sessions and a patch bay.

  • Session breakdown, microphone handling and gear normalisation.

  • Daily upkeep routines, and servicing clients and engineers needs.

  • Basic equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Sitting in on recording, mix and mastering sessions. Just remember, a fly-on-the-wall approach is always best. Be present, but not overbearing.

  • Assisting bands with set up in rehearsal rooms should they need it.

  • Maintenance of band rehearsal rooms, and general tidy-up.

  • Maintenance and tuning of house instruments (guitars and drums). Don’t worry, we’ll teach you if you don’t know how!

Requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.

  • You must be an Australian resident (citizen or student visa).

  • You must be keen! Luke and Tye are complete audio nerds, we love people with passion for music production and gear! If you’re lazy, you’re out.

  • It’s preferable to have some prior experience - formal qualification, previous studio internship, or a body of work we can hear. If you’re completely new to audio, we’d still love you to apply! It all comes down to your personality, and your desire to learn!

  • A basic knowledge of Pro Tools is preferable (but not essential!).

  • At Danger Tone, we primarily record rock, metal, punk and indie. If you’re into EDM/Hip Hop, there’s still lots to learn here, but just a heads-up of what you’re getting into!

Our internships are hands-on, and we will try our best to get you prepped to take over the audio world!

Hours are flexible, and Luke and Tye can sit down with you and figure out a time schedule that works for you and us.
